Testing / Core Metabolic Panel
Vitamin D · B12 · Magnesium · Omega-3
Vitamin D deficiency impairs testosterone. Low magnesium blocks sleep and insulin sensitivity. B12 deficiency produces fatigue, cognitive impairment, and cardiovascular risk. Ferritin deficiency causes the same symptoms as thyroid disease. These are the foundations — and they're almost never tested.

Why it matters
01
Iron deficiency anaemia is diagnosed when haemoglobin falls below range. But fatigue, brain fog, cold intolerance, and hair loss appear when ferritin falls below 50 ng/mL — well before haemoglobin is affected. Standard bloodwork only measures haemoglobin; this panel measures ferritin.
02
The body maintains serum magnesium within a tight range by pulling from bones and tissues. Serum magnesium is normal until severe deficiency. RBC magnesium measures intracellular stores — the fraction that actually powers ATP production, insulin signalling, and sleep regulation.
03
Vitamin D receptors are present on Leydig cells — the cells that produce testosterone. Multiple studies show a direct relationship between vitamin D status and testosterone levels. Correcting vitamin D deficiency before prescribing testosterone optimization frequently resolves the hormonal complaint without intervention.

Results in 3–5 business days. Your physician reviews and schedules your interpretation call within 48 hours.
Also consider
Homocysteine (B vitamin deficiency marker) and omega-3 index are both cardiovascular risk markers — the cardiovascular panel adds ApoB and Lp(a) for the complete picture.
Common questions
Vitamin D: 60–80 ng/mL optimal (lab 'normal' starts at 30); B12: above 600 pg/mL optimal (lab normal starts at 200); Ferritin: above 50 ng/mL optimal for symptoms (lab normal starts at 12); RBC magnesium: above 5.6 mg/dL optimal; Omega-3 index: above 8% optimal for cardiovascular protection.
You can — but without the baseline, you don't know which deficiency you're correcting, whether you've corrected it, or whether a supplement is pushing you into excess (excess B12 and excess iron have their own pathology). The panel tells you where to focus and when you've arrived.
Yes. Physician-ordered diagnostic testing is HSA and FSA eligible. At a 32% bracket, effective cost is approximately $115.
